history

The firm that later became npk design first saw the light of day in an attic room in Delft in 1978. By 1983, so many people were working with the office that premises were purchased on the Molslaan in Delft. The office continued to expand and moved to a historical building in Leiden in 1990. The growth in the staff also enabled an expansion of the services offered. In 1996, npk opened a branch in Hamburg.

Four years later, the office was awarded ISO 9001:2000 certification. Many European and American design prizes have been rewarded to npk, including the iF, the Red Dot, and the ID. npk designs currently grace the collections of various museums, such as the MOMA in New York and the Design Museum in London.
The 25 th anniversary of the office was celebrated in grandiose fashion in 2003.
