Fully-working prototypes are often complex assemblies that not only have the functionality but also the appearance of the final product. For this purpose, the npk model workshop makes use of various ‘rapid prototyping’ techniques, such as the casting of silicon moulds for plastic housings that can scarcely be distinguished from the final product in appearance. Together with the technical components, these form a fully functional prototype suitable for the implementation of comprehensive test procedures.
