Redesign ANWB finger posting
For over fifty years the blue and white ANWB signs have been showing the way in The Netherlands. At the end of the nineties npk was honoured to receive the assignment for a redesign, that suited the identity of the ANWB (The Royal Dutch Touring Club). The result provides considerable improvements with regard to uniformity, legibility and functionality. The old arrow-shaped sign has given way to a rounded version, with a separate graphic arrow.
The existing poles were not destroyed, but used as a starting point in the design. The new components are, where possible, made of durable materials such as stainless steel and aluminium. Another important aspect is the energy consumption. By using so-called 'long life lamps' and special electronic equipment, some 50% less energy is required for the illuminated signposts throughout the country.
