Flexgen
FlexAyrrayer
The biotechnological process that takes place in this bench top instrument was developed by Flexgen. The FlexArrayer splits up DNA into proteins. The laser beam in the instrument uses the proteins to build thousands of new DNA chains on sheets of glass; together they form a DNA Array. In DNA research, this enables the detection of different protein structures or the screening of a large number of genes for mutations, by means of diagnostic chips. npk made the design and took care of the engineering for the housing, the bottle rack and the arrangement of the components. Because of the laser beams and dangerous fluids, the complete process takes place in a well protected, enclosed casing. The product’s constructive elements and fasteners are placed out of sight and its operating elements are made accessible.
